2011 Auditions

 

Trumpet and tuba players are invited to attend Symphonic Brass's rehearsal which runs from 4.30 - 6.15pm on Friday 6th May 2011.  At 6.15pm, following the rehearsal candidates will be given a short audition.

 

 

The Audition

During the 10-minute audition you will be asked to play: 

• A grade 6 - 8 piece/study
• Prepared sightreading (you will have access to this music in the waiting room)
• Sightreading
• Some scales and arpeggios from your current grade list 

 

Membership Requirements

 

• Candidates are usually of around Grade 8 standard, though they do not need to have taken the exam.
• Candidates should be members of an ensemble or choir run by Cardiff County & Vale of Glamorgan Music Service and also those run by their school music department.
• Members are usually in school years 10 - 13, though younger players are sometimes accepted. 
• Membership is for the complete season (June 2011 - May 2012).
